Astros Ride Magical Comeback to Victory

Astros score 3 late goals to beat TFC Academy 4-3The North York Astros fixture this week was deemed the Game of the Week for Rogers Television. The Astros did not disappoint. The Astros scored three goals in the final minutes of play to register a 4-3 victory over TFC Academy.
The Astros started off the game well with a goal from Alex Kawalit to take the early 1-0 lead. However, this lead was short lived as before half-time Adrian Pena and Eros Olazabal of TFC Academy had scored giving the home team a 2-1 lead at the half. Junior Ellis came out of the break adding to the lead giving the Academy a 3-1 lead. As the games final minutes approached it became the Astros time to shine. Guided by a double from Martin Artale and a single from Jonathan Hurtis, the Astros scored three late goals to earn three points.
In the second game of the weekend, the Astros dropped a 1-0 decision to the Brampton Lions on Sunday afternoon. Daniel Nascimento scored the lone goal of the game int he 44th minute. Despite opportunities the Astros were unable to find the equalizer in the second half. The Astros now sit at 8-6-2 with 26 points. They are in second position in the National Division, six points clear of the Brampton Lions. The Astros next game is Sunday afternoon when they travel to the Garden City to take on the St. Catharines Wolves. Game time is 4:00pm
