North York – Monday, July 19 – The North York Astros drop a close game to Portugal F.C. on Friday July 16 by 1-0 score.
The close encounter at Lamport Stadium on Friday evening between North York Astros and Portugal F.C. was a live feature on Rogers Television. The only goal of the match was scored by Portugal's Andrea Lombardo from a penalty kick at 32 minutes of the first half on a dubious called by referee Andrew Kruvets as he ruled defender Jevon Vanderreyden pushing a Portugal player down inside the penalty area, as the ball was going out of bounds.
