North York – Monday, September 14 – The North York Astros playoff run ended on Sunday at the hands of the Italia Shooters in Maple.The Astros were riding a four game unbeaten streak that started back on August 22 at Esther Shiner when they defeated the London City team by a 3-2 score but Nick Cisternino’ goal at 84 minutes put the Italia Shooters ahead for a final 2-1 result that eliminated the Astros from the playoffs..
Italia’s Kadian Lecky scored his 10th of the season at 9 minutes from the penalty kick for 1-0 halftime score. Astros’ Diego Maradona tied the game with his seventh of the season at 58 minutes on a header.
North York Astros next home game is on September 19 versus TFC Academy at Esther Shiner Stadium. Kick off is set for 3pm.
